GOLD OIL PLC ('Gold Oil' or the 'Company') Significant Shareholding

The Company was informed on 16 January 2008 that following an acquisition of ordinary shares in Gold Oil on 14 January 2008, Credit Agricole Cheuvreux International Ltd has an interest in 19,403,903 of the Company's shares, representing 4.05% of the Company's issued share capital.
